Our kittens are raised underfoot with young children and dogs, thoughtfully socialized, and placed through a careful screening process.

Life at Mossy Cottage moves a little slower, in the best way. Our days are filled with soft paws underfoot, kittens tucked into cozy corners of every armchair, and the gentle rhythm of raising cats the way we believe they should be raised: with presence, patience, and purpose.
Our Maine Coons are born and raised in our home, surrounded by everyday sounds, children, dogs, and real family life. From the moment they open their eyes, they are handled gently, loved often, and allowed to grow with confidence. We believe this early environment shapes not just how a kitten looks, but who they become.
Health is never an afterthought here. Careful planning, thorough extensive health testing, and thoughtful pairings guide every decision we make. We don’t rush litters, we don’t cut corners, and we don’t breed without intention. Each kitten represents years of planning and a future we take seriously.

How We Screen & Choose Our
Purrrfect Families
At Mossy Cottage, every potential home is thoughtfully reviewed to ensure our kittens are placed responsibly and intentionally. We use this application to learn about your household, experience with pets, long-term plans, and ability to provide appropriate veterinary care and a safe indoor environment.
Once an application is approved, placements are offered to our Purrrfect Families as kittens become available. Submitting an application does not guarantee immediate placement, but approval allows your family to be considered fairly and transparently as availability opens.
Our goal is not to place kittens quickly, but correctly.
We appreciate your honesty, patience, and understanding as we work to make the best matches possible for both our kittens and their future families.
